2023-2024 dates to be determined!
This is a great way to have a friend join you on the ice, or for anyone to come try out our speed skate classes (and even try on a pair of speed skates if you are older)!
There is no cost to join us for this On-Ice Open House or to Bring-a-Friend to class!
- Come out and learn what speed skating is all about.
- Play games and learn drills.
- Try out a fun and positive on-ice sport.
- Hot chocolate and goodies will be available for all attendees!
What skaters will need to bring:
- CSA-approved helmet.
- Gloves/mitts (water-resistant is ideal).
- Hockey skates. Figure skates are NOT permitted as the tips make holes in the ice.
- All participants must sign a YKSSC waiver before getting on the ice. Anyone under the age of 18 needs to come with a parent or guardian or bring the signed waiver with them. We will have waivers ready for skaters to sign at the classes, or download the waiver, print and sign in advance.
